Mulloon Institute’s calendar is so full it’s very hard to get the whole team together. However, at solstice time we managed to converge on the farm for some wintry fireside togetherness.
It was a fabulous two days, with strategy, storytelling and deep thinking about the organisation’s future. A highlight was an excursion to Westview (pictured right), a key site within the Mulloon Rehydration Initiative. Here we had an opportunity to dwell on the remarkable regenerative impact some of our in-stream structures can achieve by catalysing nature’s self-healing processes. We also witnessed a demonstration of the first iteration of the LiFT application, as well as an example of an integrated workflow tool for catchment-scale planning in the TIMME project.
With several new staff joining in the last six months, and the farm and Institute team coming together, it was terrific for us to see each other in person when we are so often interacting remotely via screen. The gathering left us galvanised with a sense of refreshed purpose for the task we are all passionate about: regenerating our landscapes and fostering resilience, working collaboratively with our wonderful network of partners and community members.
