Matthew Smith

BEng (Civil) / Dip. Landscape Design
Project Delivery & Engagement Manager

Matt brings over two decades of planning, design and construction experience, in both the civil and landscape sectors, to his role as Project Delivery and Engagement Manager. His work has ranged from large-scale infrastructure projects to community-focused landscape masterplans, always emphasising meaningful stakeholder engagement, practical implementation and delivering quality outcomes. His hands-on experience, combined with a systems-thinking approach and a passion for education, make him a valuable contributor to Mulloon Institute’s mission of empowering landholders to help restore landscape function across the agricultural landscapes.

Having worked and lived in regional areas he has a strong appreciation for the contribution agriculture makes to our society and the numerous challenges the industry faces in providing sustainable outcomes. His passion for regenerative agriculture is not only professional but personal as his family are stewards of a 165-acre grazing property in Queensland, where they are actively applying regenerative principles to restore landscape function and soil health with the long-term goal of demonstrating it’s possible to generate a reasonable financial return from a small landholding.
