Rothamsted Research visits Mulloon Creek
Professor John Crawford from the prestigious Rothamsted Research in the UK flew out to visit us last week to discuss the possibilities of a joint UK-Australia Alliance promoting technology and data-driven innovation in agriculture.
John is a theoretical biologist whose research focuses on systems approaches and integrated soil-plant-microbe systems. He has a degree in Physics and a PhD in Theoretical Astrophysics, and has published nearly 200 peer-reviewed articles.
At Rothamsted Research – a world-leading, non-profit research centre focusing on strategic agricultural science to benefit farmers and society worldwide – John is the Integrated Solutions Lab Flagship Leader. He is also a member of our Science Advisory Council and a previous Head of Sustainability and Complex Systems at the University of Sydney.
Such an alliance would present an exciting opportunity to establish a joint UK-Australia open innovation hub for tech-enabled agriculture with the potential for the establishment of a regional-scaled infrastructure and demonstration zone in each country.
