Help scale Australia’s landscape restoration before the next $1.6 billion loss
Landscape rehydration works, with your help, can be scaled now to strengthen farms, communities and our national resilience.
The 2018–2019 drought reduced national crop production by 21% and livestock production by 6%, resulting in an estimated $1.6 billion loss to Australian agriculture (Effects of Drought and Climate Variability on Australian Farms).
Landscape rehydration offers a practical, proven way to reduce this impact by restoring water cycles, improving soil moisture and strengthening resilience at scale.
With more than 60% of Australia’s agricultural land degraded, the opportunity is significant. Modelling shows that applying these methods across just 10% of river systems could deliver $575 million in net annual benefits, alongside gains in biodiversity, water quality and community resilience.
Mulloon Institute works directly with land managers and communities to turn this evidence into on-ground action and to ensure it spreads across regions.
Rather than delivering one-off projects, we:
- train land managers to restore their own landscapes
- support communities to lead catchment-scale change
- partner with First Nations groups to embed cultural knowledge
- build local capability so knowledge continues to spread.
We need your support to scale our work.
Donate today to accelerate impact before 30 June.
