Dr John Field

John is a Senior Lecturer at the Fenner School of Environment and Society at the Australian National University. His areas of expertise include; Soil Chemistry (excl. Carbon Sequestration Science), Environmental Education and Extension, Forestry Management and Environment, Conservation and Biodiversity, Agricultural Hydrology (Drainage, Flooding, Irrigation, Quality, Etc.), Soil Physics, Simulation and Modelling, Surface water Hydrology, Geomorphology and Regolith and Landscape Evolution and Land Capability and Soil Degradation. He values the role of trees in agricultural and forest land management, environmental services, land capital value and aesthetics.

John has been involved with Mulloon Creek Natural Farms for over 20 years through his and his students’ studies in agriculture and forestry and the vital relationship between plants and soil.
