Creative Adaptation & Partnerships
Laura is an artist, researcher and community events organiser with over 15 years’ experience working on sustainability and rural regeneration projects in Australia and overseas. As a founding member of the award-winning art cooperative Kandos School of Cultural Adaptation (KSCA), she has led multi-year projects like ‘Land Studio’ and ‘An artist, a farmer & a scientist walk into a bar’. A sociologist by training, she thinks deeply about the social and cultural aspects of transformational change. She loves fostering art/environment, art/science and city/country connections and finding surprising ways to share and exchange knowledge.
At Mulloon Institute Laura has led the development of inventive curriculum and community engagement tools that have expanded our audience including animations, models and games. Current projects include the co-design of a First Nations Water Skills Certificate, and the Community-led water stewardship program the Institute is establishing with WaterNSW. Laura is an Honorary Research Fellow at Faculty of Law, Humanities and Arts, University of Wollongong.
