Nicola Stokes is an experienced Chair, Director, and CEO with a proven record of guiding complex organisations across corporate, philanthropic, charity, social enterprise and farming sectors. Nicola brings expertise in fundraising, governance, strategy, and risk management, complemented by a career of scaling organisations, forging international partnerships, and delivering sustainable growth. With experience spanning multi-million-dollar foundations, global financial institutions, and national peak bodies, she brings a unique ability to bridge sectors, mobilise resources and deliver measurable impact.
Currently CEO and Director of AMP Foundation, a circa $180M philanthropic fund which focusses on economic empowerment at the community level, Nicola’s current board portfolio includes Director roles at AMP Foundation (2024-present) and Community Council of Australia (2021-present). Her previous board experience includes Co-Chair of the International Diabetes Federation Life for a Child program, supporting over 11,000 children in 36 developing countries; Stretch A Family (2008-2014) foster and residential care for children and young people; NSW Premiers Council for Active Living (2012-2014); NSW Expert Advisory Panel on Preventative Health (2012-2014) United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative UNEPFI (2027 – 2028).
Her executive career includes CEO roles at Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, Special Olympics Australia and Australian Diabetes Council; and General Manager Global Shared Services at ANZ Bank.
Nicola and her husband George run their 679 hectare merino sheep enterprise in the Mulloon catchment in Bungendore.
Nicola has been appointed as a Director on the Board of Mulloon Institute in November 2025
