The Winter edition of Resilience eNews provides an opportunity to thank Rose Nairn OAM and Robert Purves AM for their contributions to the Institute, not only as recent directors but also as long-term supporters of our work and people.
Rose and Rob joined me on the Board of the Institute in July last year on an interim basis with the task of appointing our new Board (please see Summer Report from the Chair – Mulloon Institute). They not only appointed a fantastic group of Directors but also remained part of the Board until recent months to assist with a smooth transition. Rose and Rob have had long connections with Tony Coote and his family, other founding members, partners and stakeholders and of course, our long-serving former Chair, the late Hon Gary Nairn AO. At a personal level, I would like to thank them both for their friendship, counsel and support at an important time for the Institute and look forward to them remaining valued members of our organisation.
Recently, one of our continuing Directors, Siobhan Toohill, had the opportunity to attend the Creek Health and Habitat Day at Bangalla with the Mulloon team, as part of the Water Stewardship Program‘s Kellys Creek demonstration site near Moss Vale in the NSW Southern Highlands.
