Tony Coote AM and Toni Coote (Dale), our Founders

Toni Jane Coote's (Dale) passing on 21 November 2018 is another sad happening in The Mulloon Institute's year, coming a short three months after the loss of Tony Coote.

Tony and Toni Coote were our founders. We wouldn’t exist without their collective vision, without their passion for repairing the environment, for their pursuit of regenerative farming and for their goal of a better society.

Toni, or TJ or Mrs Toni, she responded to all those affectionate titles, was very much her own person and said it how it was. Long before her relationship with Tony and Mulloon Creek Natural Farms and The Mulloon Institute, she was a pillar of the ACT and the Bungendore community and the tourism industry.

I will always treasure the many frank discussions we had sitting on the verandah at the Home Farm. While watching the peacocks prance around the pea-hens and the guinea fowl do their best to interrupt the spectacular colourful show, Toni would provide many gems of opportunities for the future of both Mulloon Creek Natural Farms and The Mulloon Institute.

We are all going to miss her terribly but her ideas and vision are well established within our organisation and that has added to where we will be going well into the future. Meanwhile, I’m sure she has reconnected with Tony and their collective spirit will continue to steer us to improve our environment, farming and society.

A memorial celebration of Toni’s life will be held soon and hopefully you will be able to join us. Everyone who has met or been part of Toni's life is welcome. If you are coming please let us know how many you will be for catering purposes,donna@themullooninstitute.org
