AgVision is a leading Agricultural and Agribusiness careers expo held in NSW, that helps Year 9 to 12 students and their teachers learn about a range of possible careers in agriculture, science, technologies and agribusiness. 

The event is designed to inspire and motivate students with hands-on experiences and mentoring from industry professionals. It is great to see a growing number of speakers each year covering regenerative and sustainable farming topics, along with ag-tourism, agronomy, wool, seafood, dairy, sheep, poultry, horse training, farm biosecurity, permaculture, market gardening and many more.

This year, Tessa Mettke (Mulloon Creek Natural Farms) and Bill McAllister (Mulloon Consulting Contracting & Certifying) represented Mulloon at the event, talking about their career pathways in the emerging field of Regenerative Agriculture.

Tessa presented on the rewards and challenges of managing an organic and bio-dynamic, free-range chicken farm, including the daily routines involved. 

Bill discussed the benefits and challenges of adopting the regenerative farming approach when compared with conventional agriculture, and looked at how these practices can be applied to improve natural landscape function, while boosting the profitability of an agricultural enterprise. 

The workshop was well received by students, half of whom had backgrounds in conventional farming and were already interested in regenerative agriculture. Several students who had heard of The Mulloon Institute were quite engaged and asked some great questions. Many of them stayed back at the end to get more information, including flyers to take back to their family farms.
