Barbie

Offline (Landscape) Influencer

G’day, I’m Barbie. I’m an influencer, but not like those groovy dudes online who are constantly fishing for validation. “Like me!” Oh, give me a break.

I stay offline. I’ve always had trouble connecting with the moo-tooth, so I can never be herd.

I’m a Landscape Influencer. How I graze, interact with grass, soil and water all help shape the health of the land.

Cows get a bad rap these days, and I want to set the record straight. Grass and grazing animals have evolved together over millennia; one can’t live without the other. Think of the great plains of America, the steppes of Mongolia, the savannas of Africa. (I’m a Bookish Bovine, I’ll admit.) Millions of animals, herding in the presence of predators, constantly on the move, returning to recovered pastures months later.

That’s how we graze at Mulloon Creek Natural Farms: in a dense herd, with long recovery periods for the grass. It stimulates growth, builds healthy soils and aids in rehydrating the landscape. I can’t think of a greater legacy a cow could leave: building soil for the next herd to thrive on.

Here’s a picture of my calf Mini Moo 🐮 and me, with some of our friends.
