Livestock Guardians

Don’t be fooled by my cute fluffy exterior. I may be the friendliest doggy around hens and people, but if one of those pesky foxes comes near my chookies, I turn on “Security Dog Mode” to level 11! The pack and I are here to protect the ladies, and we take our job seriously. Like the bouncer at the nightclub, we ask those unwanted visitors to leave and will escort them out when necessary.

Our job never stops; we are with the flock 24-7. It does have its perks though, I can have a cat dog nap in the sun, but I am always alert. I like to catch up with the other Maremmas and we share security stories.

Hang on, I gotta go, I see a sly red fox who is looking for trouble.
