Waterway and Wetland Management Field Day – Mornington Peninsula, Vic

  • Splitters Rest 328 Main Creek Road Main Ridge, VIC, 3928 Australia (map)

Mornington Peninsula Shire are excited to welcome Peter Hazell and Annabel Manning from Mulloon Institute to the Peninsula for a FREE, unique field day.

The Western Port Biosphere works with the community to create a sustainable future for Western Port, which is done through research, education, community engagement, partnerships and on-ground conservation efforts.

This event forms part of the Greens Bush to Arthurs Seat Biolink project (GB2AS). The health of waterways and wetlands on farms is a key outcome of the GB2AS Biolink project that is implemented through land management planning, revegetation, weeding, pest animal management, fencing and community education activities.

In addition to the Mulloon Institute you will hear from local experts:

  • Louise Kerford from Melbourne Water will discuss waterway and wetland management within the GB2AS Biolink and Mornington Peninsula area;

  • Lance Lloyd from the Western Port Biosphere will discuss wetland management and water stewardship on farms

Hosting this field day is Splitters Rest (formerly Uncommon Folk), in the 'fancy shed'. Splitters Rest has been working with Melbourne Water and Landcare on the GB2AS project for several years and the day will include morning tea, a light lunch and a farm walk.

The event is FREE but registration via the below link is essential.

This event is a collaboration between Mornington Peninsula Shire and Landcare.
